Nottingham Swimming Club Water Polo Team Abroad

Each year we aim to visit main land Europe to meet and socialise with other teams. In recent years we have visited Holland, Belguim, Germany, Austria and the Czeck republic.  In 1997 we visited Krefeld Neptune to help them celebrate their 100th anniversary and took part in their celebratory tournament, finishing 2nd to a very competitive team from Offenbach, in Germany. The second team finished 8th. In 1998 we visited Zepta in Holland to take part in their huge event, we were entered in Div 4 where finished in 1st place. The second team in league 8 finished: 6th. In 1999 we again visited Germany, this time Oer-Erkenschwick. Again we had two teams entered but unfortunately failed to qualify for the final stages of the tournament.

When we visit other teams we have a reputation of playing and partying hard, here is a picture of us at the Krefeld tournament where we attended the party all dresses as Robin Hood characters.

In 1996 when the world masters were in Sheffield, we entered a team in the 45+ age group where we finished 4th place losing out on goal difference to a south African team.  Inspired by this In the year 2000 we entered an Over 50's  world masters championships at the World Masters in Munich, in a very competitive group we finished in 6th place.  In 2002 the competition is being held in Christchurch, New Zealand, we may be there!
